We Are Bess

I was asked to take portraits of British women this summer for the National Trust. The idea was to use modern women’s voices to retell the story of Bess of Hardwick, 16th century wife, mother, landowner, and builder of Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth House. It was a huge privilege to take part in the project, and to see the images displayed in such a grand room is amazing!

The exhibition is open now until May next year. You can read more about the project here.
